Early life
Ruslan Kogan born to Jewish parents in November 1982 Babruysk, Byelorussian SSR, Soviet Union. His parents moved with Ruslan and his sister Svetlana to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1989. With just $90, they worked multiple jobs to provide for their family, Who lived in a Housing Commission flat in the suburbs of Melbourne.
Ruslan Kogan grew up in the Elsternwick Housing Commission flats, And has a keen interest in technology at the age of nine. When he for the first time built his own computer from bargain parts purchased at a Computer Swap Meet at Caulfield Town Hall. And just the age of 10 years old, he started his first business where he collected lost golf balls, cleaned them, and repacked them in egg cartons, selling them for $0.50/each to golfers on weekends. During his teen years, he started doing businesses like a car wash service, mobile phone repair business, and a web design agency.

Ruslan continued to show a keen interest in technology throughout Melbourne High School, attended Brighton Secondary College, and finished top of the state in Information Processing and Management with a perfect study score in Year 12. After graduating, he attended Monash University with a Bachelor of Business Systems (Information Technology). Where he studied while working full-time.
