Net worth

Guillaume Moubeche’s net worth is estimated to be in the multimillion-dollar range, cause his well-known product for now that is Lemnist achieved a valuation of $150 million and reached approximately $26 million in ARR by 2024.

From Where?

Guillaume Moubeche was born in Paris and grew up there in a modest environment. Both of his parents were not entrepreneurs like other entrepreneurs. In this case, his entrepreneurial spirit likely did not come from his parents. Both of his parents grew up on farms in the southwest France. They never had lots of money that’s why they had to sacrifices quite a lot to give a good education to Guillaume and his brother. This upbringing leads him to desire for independence and success.

“I’ve always loved money I’ve seen how people you know have been treated my dad because he didn’t have enough money.”

From High school to University, he tried many jobs to get his income source to pay for his life expenses, even applied for Mc Doland’s where his friends got accepted and he got rejected. At that time he starts questioning everything:

“I really, really like, felt like sh*t. F#*ck, you know, like everyone can work at MC Donald’s and not you. you’re really like the worst shit ever, you’re doing like uni where you don’t even know if you’re going to get a job afterwards.”

After struggling to land basic jobs during University Guillaume realized that the usual path from school to a 9 to-5 job wasn’t for him so he starts looking for something better. At that time he decided to be his own boss and launching a company was the coolest thing to do.

Entrepreneurship

“I need to be my own boss. I need to live, following the rules. I want to establish. I don’t want to have someone you know, who tells me what to do. working in, like normal company, I feel like your creativity is often very like, limited, and I’ve always been someone creative. I’ve always felt like, I don’t belong in a specific category.”

After that, he switch to do master’s in marketing. During his master’s, he just thought that he could give back to his dad by launching a business with him. He thought “Now that I know marketing I’m going to be super rich and make money online.” Started to do like t-shirt business cause it doesn’t require a lot of money and they don’t have money so it’s perfect. They how to print on fabric and he knows how to sell with his Master’s in marketing. Guillaume is convinced that his t-shirt business is how he’s going to give back to his dad and make it big he’s finally ready to leave the minimum wage jobs behind and become a successful entrepreneur and after months of Blood Sweat and Tears everything was ready after launching the project creating the whole website and putting it online uh it was a massive fail. They only sold six shirts and my plan which seemed to be perfect to become super famous was totally crushed.

Guillaume realizes that making millions online isn’t as easy as it seems his dream of becoming an entrepreneur led to a ruined relationship with his family, he and his dad did not talk for about one and a half years. But he isn’t the one to give up this easily so he starts looking for his next venture. Which was a lead generation agency of his friend, he did it for a year and left the agency. Guillaume was craving more than just an agency business his Ambitions were much larger he wanted to build the next billion-dollar startup. With his next idea to personalize the internet, he went to Russia where he hired a few developers and paid them all his savings around $4,000 – $5,000. Eventually from the change of one line code his project totally went to trash. After Returning from Russia to France he was totally broke.

“I didn’t want to go work on like, sh*tty jobs like I did for, I don’t know, six or seven years to pay, like, for everything else. My girlfriend, I remember she was paying the rent.”

Lemlist

Lemnist, an email outreach platform designed to address the shortcomings of existing tools.

In 2018, Guillaume Moubeche launched Lemlist, by investing all his savings of $1,000. Since its launch, Lemlist has experienced significant growth from $0 to $28 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). Firstly made $600 in first month and was growing 40% month over month. Guillaume thought that he finally cracked the code to building a successful business until he noticed the low activation rate which was 15%. To solve this problem Guillaume redone all his product from scratch and put it live. After done it live his inbox is flooded with angry customers and that accident Scared Guillaume but instead of backing off he decided to face it. By directly talking to all the users who are unhappy on like Zoom calls to understand what he lacking and fix it. At the end of the month, his activation rate was at 35% instead of 15% and later 65%. The company reached a valuation of $150 million in just 3.5 years.

  • Year 1st  $250k (ARR)

“It’s like poetry. It’s like magic. Everything you do Works. You’re in a state of flow where everything is so easy that you feel like you’ve understood everything about life, that it was a game all along and you know you’re in a state of bliss. you feel like a superhero and you feel like nothing can destroy you.”

Everything was going smoothly until two of the company’s Co-founders exited.

“When your co-founder leaves, it’s definitely weird because, you know, you trusted people for a long time.”

LEMLIST 2.0

It was hard time after two of his co-founders left. Now, Guillaume had to handle all the technical side of things like tech, support, product sales, and marketing which was definitely not his job. Guillaume now on his own, faced an overwhelming amount of new challenges. But he still believed Lemlist could be more and he wasn’t going to abandon it after getting this far. He was left with one choice to make things work, rebuild the company from scratch. And by  Spending a year and a half dealing with all the technical things, then be sure that Guillaume was irrelevant to the growth of the business and rebuild the entire company architecture. After facing numerous struggles, At Last, Guillaume Moubeche became the successful entrepreneur he had always dreamed of becoming.
