Aside from working at a Pizza shop for a few months, His career began during his gap year in Edinburgh as a way to prove to himself that he could translate his high school success or ‘book smarts’ into ‘real world’ smarts, which to him was being able to make money and not be painfully broke. In 2019 when he started his first e-commerce business in the health and wellness sector.

In 2020 as the e-commerce headwinds he got offered from his mentor Josh Brown offered a position to join his digital marketing agency JB Media, where they managed substantial advertising budgets for various clients, and further developed his skillset.

In 2022, Liam Ottley with his first exposure to language models such as BERT for sentiment analysis tasks, and he first time tried ChatGPT. He instantly shifted his focus to artificial intelligence, driven by a growing interest in AI technologies. He founded Morningside AI to develop products centered around GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) technology and natural language processing.

On January 3rd, 2023, he launched a YouTube channel where he shares insights on AI entrepreneurship, and quickly gaining over a million views within just a few months. His rapid growth led him to founding his own AI Development company Morningside AI, named after the suburb in New Zealand where he grew up.
